Gleaner's Food Bank

There are a few spots still open for students to volunteer with the Service Club on Saturday the 4th at Gleaner’s Food Bank. Students will volunteer from 8:45-12:00. Anyone interested should see Mrs. Laug in the Guidance Office.

Service Learning Volunteer Opportunities

Our Service Learning students are working on a few projects coming up in the next several months that they will gladly accept help from other students seeking volunteer hours!  They asked that I help advertise this to different clubs around the school that require service hours.  Here’s a little info about the upcoming events:

1.       Slip N Slide Kickball

a.       It’s exactly what you would expect from the name – Saturday, 04/08 approximately 3-6 PM
b.       All proceeds will benefit March of Dimes

2.       Light Up the Night

a.       Community walk with food, games, and music – Saturday, 04/15 approximately 8-11 PM
b.       All proceeds will benefit Greenwood PD

Greenwood Community Center

The Greenwood Community Center is in the midst of a complete remodel. When open we will institute a children’s program in the morning and evening. The supervisor of this program is looking for high school juniors and seniors to help watch children while their parent/care givers workout in the adult area. This is a spot that could quickly become a paid part-time position for the right person.  The position will begin in February (hopefully), but they would like to secure people before Christmas Break.  Please contact Jeff Madsen (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) if you are interested.
