Reminder-SAT/ASVAB on March 1st

Posted by on in Greenwood High School News
Good afternoon.  GHS will give the SAT (for Juniors) and the ASVAB (for Sophomores) on Wednesday, March 1st.  This practice impacts each of the grades in the following way:

9th Grade:  Distance Learning-9th grade students do not report to GHS on this day.

10th Grade:  All 10th Grade students will take the paper-and-pencil ASVAB on this day.  This activity helps students identify strengths.  Also, a qualifying score can satisfy one of the graduation requirements.  If your child would like a sack lunch on this day, please complete the linked form.

11th Grade.  All 11th grade students will take the digital SAT on this day.  Students who have a school-issued laptop will need to bring this device, fully charged, on this day.  Students who do not have a school-issued laptop will be issued one for this test only.  There may not be extras, so students who have a school-issued laptop, must bring their device fully charged.  A qualifying score on the SAT can also satisfy one of the graduation requirements.  If your child would like a sack lunch on this day, please complete the linked form.

12th Grade:  Distance Learning-12th grade students do not report to GHS on this day.

Students without extended time accommodations in 10th and 11th grade will finish around 11 am.  If these students have their own ride, they would be allowed to leave at that time.

Students in these grades with extended time accommodations will finish around 12:45 pm.   If these students have their own ride, they would be allowed to leave at that time.

Lunch/Buses:  Lunch will be served for students who would like to eat at school (but they are not required to) and buses will leave campus around 1:00 pm to bring any remaining students home.

It is very important that 10th and 11th grade students be present and on time at 7:30 am on Wednesday, March 1st.  Further, 11th grade students should make sure their school-issued devices are fully charged as their SAT is done electronically.

Thanks for your help and all you do! Continue reading
