"Free Meals for All Students" with lunch tray with fork, apple, and orange slices

Greenwood Community Schools would like to share with our families the following exciting news. For the upcoming 2024-25 school year, all students will be provided with a free breakfast and a free lunch. The district food service department has worked with the state to enable all students to receive one complete breakfast and one complete lunch each day.

The free meals were made possible after Greenwood Schools applied and qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) in partnership with the USDA and Indiana Department of Education.

Families are not required to take any further action for these free meals. They will be provided to all students without having to pay a fee or submit an application. Students will still be able to purchase extras and Ă  la carte items.

Greenwood Food Service Director, Lesli Hicks, believes that this program will benefit students at all grade levels and help families. “I am really excited about being able to relieve this burden from our families,” said Mrs. Hicks.
