Isom Elementary at 50 East Broadway Ave is serving free lunch to kids and teens this summer. Stop by from June 5th to July 21st (closed July 4th) from 11:00-12:00 for a free and nutritious meal. Adults 18 and over may also purchase a meal for $4.00.
The GHS Athletic Department has announced a new head girls' varsity basketball coach, Jenny Finora. She is a former Indiana All-Star, University of Kentucky player and graduate, played professionally, and has experience coaching from high school to college. She and her family are Greenwood residents. If you know of any girls that are interested in learning and playing basketball, please send them her way! Welcome, Jenny!
The GHS Athletic Department has announced a new head football coach. We welcome Justin Boser, his wife and three children to the Greenwood family! He comes from Clarksville HS in southern Indiana. The first message he had with both the high school and middle school players here in Greenwood was, “Keep your grades up because it opens doors for you in life!” Welcome, Justin!
Congratulations to our GHS Jade choir and Irish Guard! Both represented our school over spring break in state finals competitions. The Jade choir ended up one of the top two vocal jazz groups in the state! They received recognition for best tenor section and Emily Loper (GHS senior) was named an outstanding soloist. The Irish Guard competed and placed 5th overall at the winter guard state finals.
Sophomore Makena Cruse was chosen as one of nine student-athletes to serve on the IHSAA Student Advisory Committee. She was picked, after interviewing, from a field of over 80 students that applied. She is the first Greenwood athlete to represent our school district on this panel. Makena will be representing Greenwood and the IHSAA at state finals events throughout the 23-24 school year as well as working closely with the IHSAA on student activities. Congratulations to her for this honor!

Greenwood High School had five students win awards in a journalism competition organized by the Indiana Press Women's Association. Two of them placed first in their categories and advanced to the National Federation of Press Women competition. GHS senior Audrey Poynter placed 3rd overall at the national level.
